K Project Episode 9

*Warning Spoilers Below*

Our intro to the episode is a rat in a labyrinth experiment conducted by Dr. Adolf Weissman (who, in the closest way possible, resembles Yashiro's current identity). He works alongside his sister and Lieutenant class associate Kokujoji.  They are testing the implementation of powers we see in the present time used by all the characters. Upon the conclusion of the test, Kokujoji comments that this is how they can amass super-humans to which Weissman responds by writing "Freude" on a chalkboard saying this will result in the happiness of all. We switch scenes to the war (this setting is taking place during WWII - 1945) to discover that Weissman's sister has died as a casualty.
With the conclusion of the great war, Weissman makes the point that everything is over for himself at least. He leaves Kokujoji behind as he boards the blimp we see in the present time, Himmelreich. Once the OP ended, we are taken to a news report of the Himmelreich's crash site. There are new "rabbit" masked characters. At the island school, Yashiro's classmates have recollections of his character. They also proceed to visit his dorm. Munakata, the Blue King, visits the Gold King, whom leads the Golden masked rabbits. At the top of his skyscraper, the Gold King has Weissman's body preserved after having his men fetch the doctor from the crash site. Inside Suoh's prison cell, he receives a call from "Totsuka's Murderer". The caller is a fox masked fellow with the silhouette of Yashiro's body frame. After an engagement of powers, the caller explodes and the Red King breaks out. While Scepter 4 witnesses the breakout occuring, Fushimi Saruhiko notes that they were told to do nothing if this happened.
Suoh gives a taste of his conviction blowing away all of Scepter 4 when Seri attempts to stop him. We end the episode with Homra already waiting for him outside, ready to raid the school where the caller was located.

This episode was alright but kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Knowing this season will end in four episodes, a lot of details seem kind of forced to fit in before it's all over. The WWII flashback, the fake Yashiro caller, and I also am not a fan of the way the show introduces characters. Specifically in this episode, I am referring to the Gold King which was only confirmed by the context of the scenes he was in. I hope the next episode is better.

Thanks for reading!
