K Project Episode 13

*Warning Spoilers Below*

Munakata and Suoh's fight continues. Yata and Saruhiko still resist Kuroh. In the middle of their battle, Yata experiences pain in his Red Clan branding which takes us back to a time before he and Saruhiko joined Homra.
Yaoi?
After the look back, Yata grabs Saru's collar unconvinced that he doesn't care about Suoh. Weissman arrives with his umbrella after Yata and Saru were evacuated. Kuroh formally accepts Weissman as his new King and officially joins as a clansman. The Colorless King exposes more of his plan to capture a weakened King first then he can take the other one much easier. He also includes that Munakata is slowing down first surprisingly. Given the foreshadowing of Munakata hinting that he knows what's going on, I'm inclined to believe he is deliberately doing so to lure him. Weissman and Kuroh arrive and confront possessed Kukuri. She tried to pull a gun on them to no avail. After easily being captured, the Colorless King attempted to control Weissman once again only to be outwitted by him and ambushed. There's still half the episode left but... seriously? We get another yaoi scene and then Weissman just turns the 7th King into a ball of darkness and absorbs it. What? Talk about anticlimactic.
Yaoi.
Weissman now has his sights on Munakata and Suoh. After a quick follow up with Yata and Saruhiko returning back to their respective parties, Weissman gets in the middle of the fight. This is more like it. The Colorless King he absorbed is getting uncontrollable. In his final moments Weissman tries his best to hold him back, allowing the Red King to punch him through the chest.
Munakata knew what was going to happen. Following the killing blow, Suoh's Damocles faded and began to fall; he was prepared to accept retribution. Before the Damocles landed, Munakata killed him so he wouldn't have to suffer.
His last words were whispered into Munakata's ear muted from the viewers. Anna screams for him and as the crests of the Red Clansmen fade and rise, a beautiful shower of red light soars into the clouds.

We've finally finished the last episode! Now I can finally watch this new season K: Return of Kings. But not before the K: Missing Kings movie of course, so stay tuned for that.

All in all, it was good enough. It does raise the question of whether or not Weissman survived since he is supposed to be immortal. There are seven Kings but only four were featured in this final episode: Red, Blue, Colorless, and Silver. The other three would be Gold, Green, and ???
The reveal of Kokujoji was interesting but again, the vast majority of character introductions were not executed too well. The tone of this anime plays quite an interesting role. The music and shading made it quite unique as I have never seen another series outline how important color is to this anime. Kings aside, the lighting in almost all scenes were purposely not the paper/blinding white version of light but a slightly less undertone. This really brought out the effects of whenever Weissman/Yashiro/Neko would produce a light power/aura. I'll just leave it at that for now since I still have to watch the Missing Kings movie before moving on to season 2. I hope you enjoyed the show as well whether it's less or more than I did.

Thanks for reading!
